Frequently Asked Questions
How do I download my purchased music?
To download your music, just make sure you are on the “Pending Downloads” page. Make sure you disable any software that blocks downloads. Then choose the format you wish to use. For iPod or iTunes users, the best format is the AAC format. For all other portable mp3 players choose the mp3 format. Click the download button. If given the option, click “Save” (not Open) and select a folder that will be easily accessed from your desktop into which to download the music.
If you purchased a full album, clicking on the “Full Album Download” button will download a zipped folder (named the same as the album) containing all the music at once.
How do I download my previously purchased music?
Log into "My Account" by entering your username and password. Select "Download Music". Enter the key number that is listed in the order confirmation email that you received immediately after your purchase. If you can't find your confirmation email, check any spam filters or spam folders that might have captured it.
How do I get my music into iTunes?
iTunes is the preferred player for OmStream music. It works on Windows systems or Macs. All you need to do is drag the music onto the iTunes icon and the program will put all the files in the appropriate places.
In the case of the full album download, the file must be unzipped (uncompressed). This usually happens automatically. Just drag the folder onto the iTunes icon and iTunes will do the rest.
The icon for the music I downloaded shows a piece of paper with the album title underneath it. I tried to put it into I tunes and it just kept rejecting it .
Depending on what browser you are using, the downloaded file sometimes loses its extension. Try adding ".zip" to the end of the filename if it's a full album download.
How do I create an audio CD from my downloaded files?
There are many programs available that will allow you to burn an audio CD. In order to burn a CD, your computer needs to have a CD-RW drive. If your computer was purchased in the last five years, you probably have all the necessary hardware.
For the purpose of this tutorial, we’ll walk you through the process of burning a CD in Apple’s iTunes software. Many other programs such as Windows Media Player and MusicMatch Jukebox can work as well, but iTunes has a very simple interface and is probably the simplest program to learn. If you don’t have iTunes, you can download it here: Download iTunes Software
After installing iTunes, open it and then go to the “File” menu and select “Make New Playlist.” Enter the title of the album and press enter. Now, you can drag files from your Library into the new playlist. You’ll notice that when you click on the playlist, the information at the bottom of the screen will tell you the combined length of all the files in your playlist. Make sure that the length is SHORTER than the length of your CD. Most CD’s are either 650 MB (74 minutes) or 700 MB (80 minutes).
Now that have the playlist ready, there is one last step. Go to the “iTunes” menu and select “Preferences”. Go to the “Burning” tab. Under the “Disc Format” select the “Audio CD” option. Click the “OK” button at the bottom of the window. All you need to do now is click the circular button at the top right of the screen that says, “Burn.” Happy Listening!
